Be Prepared Education, LLC (“BPE,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the CredMinder application and the website at bepreparededu.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our services.

By creating an account or using CredMinder, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use our services.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: When you register, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from those providers.
  • Credential data: Titles, expiration dates, ID numbers, notes, and images you upload to track your credentials.
  • Payment information: When you subscribe, payment details are collected and processed by RevenueCat (web and mobile), which uses Stripe as its payment processor. We do not store your credit card number.
  • Communications: If you contact us for support, we collect the content of your messages and your email address.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, time spent in the app, and interaction patterns.
  • Device information: Browser type, operating system, device type, and screen resolution.
  • Log data: IP address, access times, and referring URLs.
  • Cookies: We use a session cookie (__session) to maintain your authenticated state. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve CredMinder and our other services.
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account.
  • Process subscription payments and manage billing.
  • Send expiration reminders and service-related notifications (if enabled).
  • Respond to support requests and communicate with you about your account.
  • Detect, prevent, and address security issues and abuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these circumstances:

  • Service providers: We use trusted third-party services to operate our platform, including Firebase (Google Cloud) for authentication, database, and storage; RevenueCat for subscription management across all platforms (powered by Stripe for payment processing); Vercel for web hosting; and Formspree for contact forms. These providers access your data only to perform services on our behalf.
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or government request.
  • Safety: We may share information to protect the rights, property, or safety of BPE, our users, or the public.
  • Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Cloud (Firebase) servers located in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security reviews.

Credential images are stored in Firebase Storage and are accessible only to your authenticated account. While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and credential information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your authentication data, credential records, and uploaded images. Some data may be retained in backups for a limited period or as required by law.

Payment records are retained according to RevenueCat's and Stripe's data retention policies and applicable financial regulations.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data through the app settings or by contacting us.
  • Export: Export your credential data as PDF files from the app.
  • Opt out of notifications: Disable expiration reminders in the app settings.

7. Children's Privacy

CredMinder is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. International Users

CredMinder is operated from the United States. If you access our services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Your continued use of CredMinder after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
